“The President’s Own” United States Marine Band is al meer dan 200 jaar het persoonlijke orkest van de Amerikaanse president en is het oudste muziekgezelschap van de VS. Het is het vaste orkest van het Witte Huis dat bij alle officiële gelegenheden - de inauguratie, een receptie of een State Dinner – de muziek verzorgt. Nu staan ze, voor de allereerst keer, op het podium van het Wereld Muziek Concours. Dat is bijzonder, want de United States Marine Band reist vrijwel nooit buiten de VS. Dit concert is dus een unieke kans om een van de beste orkesten ter wereld live te zien spelen.
